Biography
Started: He began playing wheelchair rugby in 2014. "We won the bronze medal in the first Invictus Games [in 2014], which was actually really fun. And after that I thought, 'Yes, I'm ready to commit to the sport'." (paralympic.org, 12 Dec 2022; dr.dk, 06 Aug 2019)
Reason: He was encouraged to take up the sport during his rehabilitation with the Soldiers Project, a programme organised by the Danish Olympic Committee [DIF] to assist injured veterans. "One day at the DIF Soldiers Project, they asked if we wanted to play wheelchair rugby. Then we did. We threw six to eight men into separate teams on a handball field, and then we just smashed into each other. It was amazing." (dif.dk, 15 Oct 2019)
Ambition: To win a medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. (Detours YouTube channel, 29 May 2024)
