Biography
Reason: She has enjoyed sports since childhood. "I was quickly fascinated by the technique of performing a long jump when I tried it for the first time. In addition, I love that there are many things that have to come together in order to jump further. It also means that I get a very varied training week with both a lot of running technique, a lot of strength training and jumping." Ambition: To compete at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. (parasport.dk, 09 Jul 2024)
Additional Info: PROGRESSION SINCE TOKYO
She believes that she has improved as an athlete since making her Paralympic Games debut at the 2020 edition in Tokyo. "Paris [2024] has been my goal for the past three years. I have raised my bottom level wildly and am improving all the time. My expectation is that Paris will be the greatest sporting experience of my life, and I will do everything to live up to that. I feel that during the last three years I have really found my way in the world of sport. I have become better at enjoying it all and more aware of how important it is to represent Para sport. There are so many good values, and as athletes we can help make a significant difference to others. For me, it makes the experience of going to the Paralympics even more satisfying." PARALYMPIC POSTER
She designed a poster for Parasport Danmark ahead of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. "I wanted to create an image where every Para athlete could recognise themselves and feel represented. It is a visual expression of Para athletes' ability to see opportunities rather than limitations. I hope that the poster gives everyone an insight into Para sport as a gathering point and a source of inspiration for people with and without disabilities." BUSINESS
In March 2019 she and her twin sister Carla established Some Other Waves, an art business based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The sisters paint murals, sell hand-painted art and have both had their painting work exhibited in Denmark. "Our subject matter is inspired by shared childhood memories at Danish beaches, where as a family we spent hours searching for fossilised sea urchins, seashells, and pebbles. We like to think of Some Other Waves as a very fluid project that can evolve in many different directions. We have always been inspired by our parents' creativity and their appreciation for the little things in life."
