Reason: She took part in a talent identification event at Loughborough University. "[My sister] suggested I apply as I had always taken part in a number of sports. It has always been my dream to go to the Paralympics and I was always encouraged to participate in sport. I enjoy the competitive aspect of the sport along with the challenge of always trying to be better. I love the feeling of getting stronger and setting new personal bests both in and out of competition." (britishweightlifting.org, 26 Jun 2022; Athlete, 11 Jul 2019; pathtosuccess.org.uk, 16 Jul 2017)

Additional Info: PROMOTING THE SPORT
She is ambitious about promoting women's Para powerlifting. "Female athletes are underrepresented in my sport. It will enhance the profile of athletes with different disabilities as I am not a wheelchair user. There's increased importance placed on the role of weight training in health, fitness and weight management and I can be a positive role model. I'm outgoing, chatty and keen to promote my sport."
