"I wanted to move into a more competitive sport, but also one with a more level playing field. I started triathlon in the 2014/15 season, after winning the climbing world championships." It's a shame it was so short, but I had to make the call to step away. It was quite a whirlwind journey from starting and getting classified in 2016 through to being world champion in 2019 and then making a [Paralympic] Games especially during the pandemic and everything that was going on."
