Biography
Started: She began riding at age three, and took up Para dressage competitively in 2018. "[Getting into Para dressage] was a maturing process for me, in the course of which I got to know many people and myself better. It was a year full of emotions that covered the entire spectrum. But I learned to deal with my illness. After this step, there was no longer this constant thought about what others would think." (pferde.de, 22 Nov 2023; mispelkamp.com, 01 Dec 2021, 13 Feb 2020) Reason: "My parents were already in contact with horses when they were young. They rode horses, but never developed this further in terms of tournaments. My mother was always out and about as a leisure rider and my father tried out jumping and eventing, but not as a competitive sport. My big sister already had her own horse, while I was allowed to ride my father's very big horse. I was small for my age at the time and we both must have made a funny picture." (mispelkamp.com, 01 Dec 2021) Ambition: To compete at the 2024 and 2028 Paralympic Games. (pferde.de, 22 Nov 2023) Additional Info: STABLES She owns and operates a stables near Kerken, Germany, where she coaches riders and trains horses for dressage. "I always have a full workload from Monday to Sunday. Sometimes I have to slow myself down a bit so that I don't go to my physical limits. But I usually give myself the time out that I need with my horses, for example I ride them out, go to the racetrack or just relax and walk at a leisurely pace. Being with horses means so much to me." (Facebook page, 14 Dec 2023; mispelkamp.com, 21 Sep 2022, 01 Dec 2021) EDUCATION She is a qualified equestrian trainer with the German Olympic Sports Confederation [DOSB] and has trained as a dressage and jumping judge.
