Biography
Started: He took up Para cycling in 2015 at the Anvasport club in Melle, Belgium, and began competing in 2016. (ewoudvromant.be, 23 Jan 2020)
Reason: During his rehabilitation he also tried Para skiing, Para athletics and Para swimming. However, he found he was strongest in Para cycling. "Para swimming is a very technical sport, and I was too old to reach the level that would allow me to compete internationally. It turned out that my favourite sport, Para cycling, is the sport in which I'm best. In 2017 I began focusing only on Para cycling." (ewoudvromant.be, 23 Jan 2020)
Ambition: To win gold medals at the Paralympic Games in 2024 and 2028. (LinkedIn profile, 20 Nov 2023)
Awards: In February 2020 a plaque was unveiled in Woubrechtegem, Belgium, in recognition of the gold medal he won at the 2020 Track World Championships in Milton, ON, Canada. (hln.be, 05 Feb 2020)
