Biography
Started: She began riding at age 10 and took up Para dressage in 1998 after attending a competition in Atlanta, GA, United States of America. (teamusa.org, 27 Aug 2021; onthebit.wordpress.com, 07 Aug 2009)
Reason: "It was actually really interesting because I didn't know that Para dressage existed when I first started. I always heard it was great physical therapy, but I had been riding all along. When I was younger and couldn't really understand my impairment, I used to think there would be this magic that would take it away. Horses are a part of that. They contribute to a partnership without judgement on any level and accept you for who you are. I was hooked." (horsenation.com, 13 Sep 2019; pennsylvaniaequestrian.com, 04 Mar 2014)
Ambition: To compete at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. (chronofhorse.com, 09 Jun 2023)
Additional Info: OTHER ACTIVITIES
She has worked with the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation to raise awareness about hereditary spastic paraplegia [HSP] and help children with HSP. "I try and get people to realise that HSP is only one small part of who they are. You do not have to let your disability or condition, whatever it is, define or control who you are or what you do in this life." (teamusa.org, 01 Jan 2021; chronofhorse.com, 24 May 2021; blog.wellingtonthemagazine.com, 28 Feb 2020)
