Biography
Started: His mother noticed he was quick when he would run around their garden. He also enjoyed basketball growing up but eventually switched his focus to athletics. "I was a very big basketball person and I even tried out for the basketball team in eighth grade with my vision loss. I made the team but the games were too fast-paced so I had to stop basketball but I still had track." (paralympic.org, 03 Aug 2019; teamusa.org, 24 Aug 2018) Reason: In 2017 the former director of US Paralympics Track and Field, Cathy Sellers, contacted his family to talk about Noah getting involved in the Paralympic programme. "Honestly, I didn't know too much about it. I was still competing against people with sight. So I really didn't have any idea about anything like that. I wouldn't say it was a shock to me, but it was just an eye-opener just how many opportunities are out there." (paralympic.org, 30 Jul 2019; teamusa.org, 24 Aug 2018) Ambition: To win gold at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. (indystar.com, 01 Mar 2020) In 2018 he was named High School Male Track and Field Athlete of the Year by US Paralympics. (milesplit.com, 03 Dec 2018) Additional Info: BOOK He has published an autobiography titled 'Losing Vision, Not Dreams'. "I wrote my book so that people won't count disabled athletes out, seeing us instead as serious competitors in our chosen sports." (noahmalone1.com, 03 Sep 2022)
