Started: She took up Para athletics at age 15 in Utuado, Puerto Rico. At age seven she began to play volleyball and at age 11 she took up softball, before switching to Para athletics. "When I played volleyball I was given a prosthetic in order to play better. With that prosthetic I could run long distances and I said, 'Why don't I try running as well?' And that's how I got into Para athletics."
