Biography
Started: He learnt to swim as an infant. "I got into summer league swimming when I was about six years old and then year-round swimming at Bolles [school] when I was in fifth grade." (itgnext.com, 28 Mar 2019)
Reason: He followed his older brother into the sport. "I followed him through everything. He started [swimming] year-round the year before I did, and I just wanted to keep up with him. Swimming is one of those sports where for me as an individual with achondroplasia, the pressure that I get on all my joints, it's a lot better for my bones. When I dive into the pool, everything going through my day just goes away. Swimming is an individual sport, so it's mostly just on you. Having that responsibility for me is really nice to know that I'm in control of what I do. I'm in control of what work I put in. And at the end of the day, it's all I want to do." (itgnext.com, 28 Mar 2019)
Ambition: To compete at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. (swimswam.com, 15 Dec 2023)
Awards: In 2018 he was recognised as a Scholastic All-America swimmer by USA Swimming. (swimswam.com, 17 Sep 2018)
