Reason: He was involved with wheelchair basketball before switching to athletics. "[Wheelchair basketball] was very tiring, it wasn't for me. Then one day in the mechanical workshop where I work I exchanged a few words with a representative of FISPES [Italian Federation of Paralympic and Experimental Sports] who invited me to try athletics."
