Biography
Started: He began playing wheelchair rugby in 2001 at the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre in Vancouver, BC, Canada. (tv-eh.com, 29 Jun 2021; cwsa.ca, 21 Feb 2012)
Reason: He was introduced to wheelchair rugby by the sport's co-creator Duncan Campbell. "I don't think people realise the speed we play at, how hard we hit and how reckless we are. People don't necessarily associate being a world-class athlete with being disabled. They soon realise we train just as hard and we perform just like able-bodied athletes." (paralympic.ca, 2015; canadacupwcrugby.com, 01 Jan 2012)
Milestones: He is one of five players [along with Patrice Dagenais, Trevor Hirschfield, Zak Madell and Mike Whitehead] named to Canada's 2024 Paralympic team that were also part of the silver medal-winning team at the 2012 Games in London. (SportsDeskOnline, 01 Jul 2024)
