Started: She first tried goalball at a young age but did not enjoy it. She tried playing again at age 16 at an Alberta Sports and Recreation Association for the Blind [ASRAB] event in Canada. Growing up I always played able-bodied sports. When I was 16 I discovered goalball at an ASRAB event and I have been hooked ever since." "Being on the other side of what I used to have to experience as a student is pretty rewarding. I get to solve a lot of fears and anxieties towards a certain barrier that a student might experience and to get to relieve or solve or help navigate that situation." (athabascau.ca, 10 Jan 2024) OTHER ACTIVITIES She has served as a board member of the Alberta Society for the Visually Impaired [ASVI] in Canada, and as honorary chair of Sight Night Edmonton 2016, an after-dark charity fun run. "ASVI has had a major impact on my life, whether it be the family support, interaction and advocacy throughout my personal and educational journey. ASVI has provided equipment, programmes and many amazing opportunities that have helped me become the person I am today. I am so incredibly happy and thankful to be on this board and give back to this amazing organisation."
