Reason: He took up the sport seriously in 2018 when he joined the Paralympic Sports School in Sao Paulo, Brazil. "I was anxious to start at the school. But I was a little frustrated because I was told that I would be playing sitting volleyball even though swimming was my passion. However, they let me into the pool, I did the test, and I've been swimming since. I'm eternally grateful to the school. It was my entrance door to the Paralympic movement." (cpb.org.br, 01 Sep 2023)
