Reason: After his accident in 2006 he played Para handball but did not enjoy it. He then spent five years without being involved in any sports, before joining the Para swimming team of coach Airton Bianchi in Sao Carlos, Brazil. "I spent five years lying on a bed before discovering coach Bianchi's project on the internet. I didn't even know how to swim. I did my first strokes and I discovered a new world.
