(athletics.com.au, 09 Jul 2023) Awards: He was named 2017 Junior Para Athlete of the Year at the Sports Darling Downs Awards in Queensland, Australia. (sportsdarlingdowns.org, 01 Jun 2017) Additional Info: POST-TOKYO DOUBTS He lost motivation following the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, where he placed fourth in the F38 javelin. He says that the experience of competing at the 2023 World Championships in Paris, France, helped to inspire him ahead of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. "After Tokyo I kind of took a step back to be honest. I put on a lot of weight and felt like that was the end, I didn't want to throw anymore. Only just seeing the competitors here [at the 2023 World Championships] have I really felt like I want to be back on top. I was the hunter and then I became the hunted, and now I am back to the hunter again. This competition is about getting back that hunger. My body isn't 100% but my hunger is 100% and my focus is 100% on building towards the Paralympics [in 2024]." (athletics.com.au, 09 Jul 2023)
