- Discovered Para archery after surviving a life-threatening domestic violence attack, which caused the loss of her left eye and paralysis from the chest-down
 - Stopped into the "All People's Life Center" and met her first coach, Earl C. Brown, who taught her how to use a mouth tab for her bow

 - Is an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and adaptive sports athletes
