- A high-risk neuroblastoma that wrapped around his spinal cord left him paralyzed at age 2
- Began his sports journey at an early age when he swam for his local swim team in Steamboat Springs, CO
- For a while he wanted to be a Paralympic swimmer
- He began skiing at the age of three and became more committed over time
- He also plays wheelchair tennis competitively and competed at the 2021 collegiate championships
- His mother introduced him to skiing by putting him in a padded bucket and attaching it to a bi-ski
