- Elliott first tried monoskiing in December 2011
- In April 2011, Sergeant Elliott was serving with the United States Marine Corps in Afghanistan. While on a routine patrol, he stepped on an improvised explosive device. Both of his legs were amputated above the knee and he lost three fingers on his left hand
- Son of Dennis and DeLynn Elliott
- Has two brothers, Hunter and JOhn
- Married to Samantha Elliott
- Credits God for giving him a second chance at life and another way to represent the United States
- Hobbies include riding motorcycles, flying drones, swimming, kayaking and playing the PlayStation 4.
