- While John Oman is relatively new to the Paralympic Nordic skiing scene, he has a history of competitive success in adaptive sports. An above-elbow amputee, he played for the United States at the 2010 Amputee Hockey World Championships.
 - Oman stays active no matter the season, as he also enjoys hiking, biking, running, camping, canoeing, softball, hunting and fishing
 - Oman earned his degree in Mathematics at the University of Minnesota and now works as a pricing manager at Medtronic, a tech company that specializes in medical devices and therapies.
