- Born with cerebral palsy, Pierce struggled playing sports growing up. In 2013, he started lifting weights to improve his self-confidence and in 2017 got involved in Paralympic track and field. He progressed through the sport and in 2018, made the U.S. Paralympics Track & Field High School All-Americans list. He runs on the varsity track team at the University of British Columbia and made his first U.S. team at the 2019 Parapan American Games

- Writing a book called “Afflicted and Able: My Journey from Palsy to Paralympic Sport”
- Spends his time as a motivational speaker.
