- Requist proved to be a quick-study in the sport of Nordic skiing. With only two years of experience, she has already earned two world cup podiums
- Requist may appear humble and reserved, but she has a fiercely competitive and fearless side. On the anniversary of the cliff-jumping accident that left her paralyzed two and a half years ago, Requist commemorates the date by jumping even further - she goes skydiving
- Requist has been an athletic and adventurous person her whole life. Before her injury, Requist worked as a flight attendant and stayed active snowboarding, biking and running
- Within weeks of leaving the hospital, she was competing in handcycling races and contacting the National Sports Center for the Disabled to find out how she could get into a sit-ski.
