- Cohen took up para-snowboarding in 2010. In 2006, she fractured her tibia in a snowboarding accident. Three years later, she was diagnosed with a bone infection in her ankle joint and had to have her leg amputated below the knee after numerous operations
- Works as a paramedic and firefighter
