Started: She began running competitively at age 16 in 2016, in Auckland, New Zealand. (Athlete, 11 Nov 2019; stuff.co.nz, 30 Nov 2017 ) Reason: "Running is freedom, it feels like flying. My dream is to represent New Zealand at the Paralympics and to break world records, but I'm taking it step by step. I saw an opportunity to become a national-level athlete where I could push my limits. I also saw it as an opportunity where I could inspire others living with disability to get involved in sport."
