Reason: He originally played non-Para baseball at high school level in Japan. He began looking for a new activity during a six-month stay in hospital after sustaining a cerebral haemorrhage at age 27. "I became interested in Para sports and discovered archery. At first I didn't get any successful hits at all, but as I practised, I started to hit them and I fell in love with archery."
