"The owner was in charge of the Para section at the Besancon Shooting Society [in France]. He was surprised by how good I was at the fair, so I went and shot at the club, and that's how it all began." (Athlete, 24 Aug 2024) Additional Info: EARLY SUCCESS In 2023 he won gold in the open SH2 10m air rifle prone event at both the European and world championships, held one month apart in August and September. His European title was won with a world record score. "It's hard for me to realise that I am European champion, this is really only my second major international tournament [after the 2022 World Championships]. I'm still quite new to the top level of competition, so it's taking a while to sink in. The world record is a bonus, a cherry on top of the cake. In my category we're allowed an assistant to help us with the equipment and loading etc. It's my father who helps me, and he had a little tear after my last shot. It was very moving to see."
