Started: She began powerlifting in Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. (Athlete, 04 Dec 2017)
Reason: "I started sport in 2002 because I loved wearing the colourful outfits and a friend thought powerlifting might suit me. To my amazement, it came to me naturally. In a couple of months I was Vietnamese champion and within a year I was competing internationally. Everyone has a dream and this was my dream." (bbc.co.uk, 30 Aug 2012)
