Reason: He began swimming at age three and competed in the pool up until age 15. After his accident he became overweight. Then one day he met his former swimming coach, who encouraged him to return to the sport. He went on to compete in swimming at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, and later, in 2011, he got a prosthesis that allowed him to run.
