Biography
Started: He took up the sport in 2012. (paralympic.org, 29 Oct 2019) Reason: He first saw people practising archery while at university. He was inspired to take up Para archery after watching the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. (paralympic.org, 29 Oct 2019) Ambition: To win a medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. (thebridge.in, 18 Dec 2023) Milestones: He became the first Para archer representing India to win a medal at the Paralympic Games when he claimed bronze in the men's individual recurve open event at the 2020 Games in Tokyo. (SportsDeskOnline, 25 Aug 2023) Awards: In 2022 he was a recipient of the Bhim Award, the highest sporting honour given by the government of Haryana state in India. "I lost my mother just 20 days before the competition, so I felt a lot of pressure, mentally. I have lost many things in my life, even my mother, so I had to take a medal from there and luckily I won. All that is because of my hard work and the blessings of my mother."
