Started: He took up the sport at age 16 in Cairo, Egypt. (Athlete, 25 Aug 2021) Milestones: He is one of five Egyptian players [along with Abdel Naby Abdel Latif, Ashraf Zaghloul, Hossam Massoud and Mohamed Elhenawy] to have won two career Paralympic medals in the sport. All five were part of Egypt's 2004 and 2016 Games squads.
