Biography
Started: He took up the sport in 2011 at age 17 in Prague, Czechia. (patrikjahoda.cz, 27 Nov 2018; Athlete, 21 Aug 2021) Reason: After two years of rehabilitation he wanted to get into Para sport. He initially took up Para skiing before switching to Para cycling. "Before my accident I sometimes went on bike trips with my family, and my dad thought it would be good to start that again. After getting the right handbike, I gradually began going for short rides. At first it was extremely challenging. But something kept driving me, I rode more and more, and I rediscovered the feeling of slowly mastering something." (patrikjahoda.cz, 27 Nov 2018) Ambition: To win a medal at the 2024 Road World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland. (Athlete, 26 Aug 2024) Awards: He was named Best Para Cyclist at the 2022 King of Cycling Awards in Czechia. (Instagram profile, 15 Feb 2023; ceskenoviny.cz, 14 Feb 2023)
