Additional Info: HELP FROM FRANCE
He was able to compete at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London in part thanks to a collaboration project between Burundi and the Pays de la Loire region of France. His countryman Arthemon Hatungimana, who won silver in the 800m at the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, was given enough money by the regional government to pay the travel expenses of five Burundian athletes to compete at a qualifying tournament in Tunisia. Nikobimeze made the qualifying standard there for the 2012 Games in London. "They also gave me the spikes, clothing and a pair of tennis shoes." (ouest-france.fr, 21 Aug 2012; arib.info, 21 Aug 2012)
