Biography
Curtis Caron is a Canadian Para table tennis player whose rapid rise in the sport is a testament to natural talent, perseverance, and the power of mentorship. A native of Nova Scotia, Caron made his international debut as a late addition to Canada’s team at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games, where he helped secure a silver medal in the Men’s Team (Class 6 – 8) event. This experience ignited his competitive drive and marked the beginning of his journey in Para sport.
Following his breakthrough, Caron continued to build on his success. He captured gold in singles play at the 2017 Parapan American Youth Games, establishing himself as one of Canada’s top young players. In 2019, he contributed to Canada’s team victory at the Copa Christina Hoffman tournament in Mexico, adding another international title to his growing résumé.
Caron credits his introduction to the sport to his coach, John MacPherson, who invited him to try table tennis at his club. MacPherson, who shares a similar disability, immediately recognized Caron’s potential, describing him as a player with exceptional touch and feel for the game—skills that could take him far on the international stage.
In addition to his Para table tennis accomplishments, Caron also competed at the 2015 Canada Games with Nova Scotia’s able-bodied team, further demonstrating his versatility and passion for the sport.
